PARIS REVISITED

Just back from a little weekend getaway to Paris so thought I would share a quick round up of favourites from this trip.

Buvette for brunch, part resto, part cafe/bar, successfully combining the elegance of an old world era with the casual nature of a modern day neighbourhood eatery. Order the potato pancake with eggs benedict and you won’t be disappointed. Frenchie To Go for lunch, high end, home made fast food on the pretty, cobbled Rue Du Nil. Last time they blew my mind by serving the bacon roll with red and brown sauce together - why had I never considered this before?! Order their famous lobster bricohe roll, it’s heaven! Trattoria Popolare for dinner, and popolare it is! Expect to queue for at least an hour on the weekend but the food and ambiance make up for it. Order the big burrata to share and the bufala love margherita pizza. Had I left room for dessert I would have plumped for the churros d’Amalfi I was eyeing up on the next table! Hotel Amour for an aperitif in the plant filled covered courtyard and cocktails at the Shell Bar at The Grands Boulevards Hotel. The best cinnamon buns, in the world, ever, from Circus Bakery, complete with the prettiest historical shop facade, a stone’s throw from Notre Dame, and a new found love for French fashion brand Sezane where I picked up a couple of souvenirs from their utterly beautiful L’apartment on Rue Saint Fiacre. Don’t miss their solidarity boutique further up the street selling donated pre season pieces at a discount in aid of their philanthropic program Demain which supports access to education, culture, and equal opportunities for children around the world.
